Dermal Fillers
The ultimate secret to a more radiant you!
Dermal Fillers are a non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to restore lost volume and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles in the face. Dermal Fillers are a non-surgical cosmetic procedure which enhances your facial features and gains a more youthful appearance. Dermal fillers work by plumping up the skin and restoring lost volume. During the treatment, the filler is injected into the target area using a fine needle. The filler then integrates with the surrounding tissue, creating a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion.
At Sephora, all our consultants are highly trained, experienced professionals. We only use the highest quality fillers to achieve the best and long-lasting result. What are Dermal Fillers made from?
Dermal fillers are typically made from a variety of substances that are injected into the skin to add volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial features. The most common types of dermal fillers include:
- Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: These fillers are made from a natural substance called hyaluronic acid, which is found in the body. Examples include Restylane, Juvederm, and Belotero.
- Calcium Hydroxylapatite Fillers: These fillers are made from a mineral-like compound that is found in bones. Examples include Radiesse.
- Poly-L-Lactic Acid Fillers: These fillers are made from a synthetic material that stimulates collagen production in the skin. Examples include Sculptra.
- Polymethyl Methacrylate Fillers: These fillers are made from tiny spheres of a synthetic material that are suspended in a gel. Examples include Bellafill.
How long do dermal fillers last?
The length of time dermal fillers last can vary depending on the type of filler used and the area being treated. Generally, most dermal fillers last between 6-12 months. However, some fillers can last up to 18 months or more. It’s important to note that individual results may vary, and touch-up treatments may be necessary. Your Sephora Aesthetic consultant will provide you with more information on the expected duration of the specific filler used and what to expect after treatment.
What can I expect during the treatment?
Dermal filler treatments typically take between 15-45 minutes, depending on the area being treated and the extent of the treatment. A numbing cream may be used to minimise discomfort during the injection process. After the treatment, there may be some redness, swelling, or bruising, which should subside within a few days. Results from dermal fillers can be seen immediately, with the full effects appearing within 1-2 weeks. The duration of the results will depend on the type of filler used, the amount injected, and your individual metabolism.
